The NetMail Importer (hereby referred to as NetImp) is a program designed to
import your existing *.MSG NetMail directories into your BBS message base
which may be in the Hudson, EzyCom, Squish, or JAM style. NetImp supports up
to 20 NetMail Addresses (AKA's), 15 pairs of NetMail Directories/BBS NetMail
Areas, kill or keep imported netmail, full 4D addressing activity logging,
and full file locking/sharing.
┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│░░░▒▒▒▓▓▓███ Configuration ███▓▓▓▒▒▒░░░│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Configuration of NetImp is provided with the program NetCfg. The first time
you run NetCfg, it will create the configuration file, NetImp.Cfg. The Main
Menu looks like this:
<A> Edit NetMail Addresses
<B> NetMail and MsgArea Paths
<C> LogFile : NETIMP.LOG
<D> Check Point Addresses : No
<E> Kill Imported Msgs : No
<F> Trash Kludge Lines : No
<G> Sysop Name : Sysop
<H> BBS Name : My BBS
<Q> Quit NetCfg
<A> Edit NetMail Addresses.
This option calls a second menu where up to 20 NetMail Addresses may be
defined. Please note that only the first two will be checked until
NetImp is registered.

<C> <M>
<D> <N>

<H> <R>
<I> <S>
<J> <T>
<ESC> Quit to Main Menu
┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐

└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
<B> NetMail and MsgArea Paths.
This option also calls a sub menu. Here, up to 15 NetMail Path/BBS Msg
Area pairs may be defined. Please note that only the first pair is
active until NetImp is registered.
NetMail Path BBS Msg Area
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
<A> c:\fd\netmail Jf:\msg\netmail
<B>

<N>
<O>
<ESC> Quit to Main Menu
Upon selecting one of the pairs to edit, a prompt will be shown:
Insert the path to your *.MSG directory, including the drive.
eg: C:\IC\NETMAIL
NetMail Path 1: c:\fd\netmail
This is simply the path to your NetMail directory as used by your
front-end mailer or another program. Next is the following prompt:
This field is a combination of your message base type and the location
of the message base. The following chart describes what the field
should contain for each message base type.
Hudson : H<area number><path to Hudson Database> eg: H002C:\MSGS
EzyCom : E<area number><path to EzyCom Database> eg: E0004C:\MSGS
Squish : S<path and filename> eg: SC:\MSG\NETMAIL
JAM : J<path and filename> eg: JC:\MSG\NETMAIL
BBS Msg Area 1: Jf:\msg\netmail
This field can take on a variety of different forms dependent upon what
type of message area your BBS uses. Hudson and EzyCom require a numeric
Area Identifier followed by the path to the message database. Squish and
JAM require the path and filename of the message database.
<C> LogFile.
Here, the path and name of the logfile NetImp should write to is defined.
The log file will contain a summary of all the messages imported.
<D> Check Point Addresses.
This defines whether NetImp should check the Point portion of the address
as well as the Zone, Net and Node when scanning for inbound netmail. If
this option is set to No, NetImp will import mail destined to any point
of one of the defined AKAs.
<E> Kill Imported Msgs.
NetImp offers the choice of marking the messages that were imported as
received or killing them. If this option is Yes, then NetImp will kill
them after successfully importing them into the BBS Message Database.
┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ The NetMail Importer - Version 1.00 Page 4 │
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
<F> Trash Kludge Lines.
Some message base formats don't handle Kludge lines very well. (A kludge
line starts with a ^A character (a happy face)). If kludge lines appear
on messages that have been imported, setting this option to Yes will
delete the kludge lines when importing.
<G> Sysop Name.
Enter your name here. When you register, this is checked against the
registration key to ensure your registration is valid.
<H> BBS Name.
Enter your BBS name here. As with the Sysop Name, this is also checked
against the registration key.
<Q> Quit NetCfg:
Exits NetCfg with the option to save changes.
┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│░░░▒▒▒▓▓▓███ Installation ███▓▓▓▒▒▒░░░│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Installation of NetImp is fairly simple. First, make sure that NetCfg has
been run and all the paths have been set up properly. Then, in your BBS
batch file, place NetImp right after the place the mail tosser is run.

Note that no parameters are necessary for NetImp; it will look for NETIMP.CFG
in the current directory.
